Privacy Policy
YouRoast.It (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a coffee roastery and the operator of youroast.it. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site, design a blend or place an order, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect little.
What we collect
- Your blend. The recipe you compose in the lab (lots, ratio, roast, grind, bag design, blend name) and the name you ask us to print. It is stored in your browser while you design and on our systems once you order or claim.
- Order details. Your email address, your chosen plan, your shipping address, and for the Founder’s Gift the recipient name you optionally put on the certificate. If you enter an email but don’t finish checkout, we keep it so you can pick up where you left off.
- Payment details. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card or wallet details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; we receive only a payment confirmation, the last digits of your card, and a secure customer reference we use to manage your plan and its monthly renewal.
- Claim details. When a certificate is claimed: the claim code, the founder’s name, email and delivery address, and the blend they design.
- Correspondence. Emails you send to hello@youroast.it.
- Usage analytics and technical basics. Which pages you visit and which checkout steps you reach, plus standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept briefly for security.
What we use it for
- Roasting, blending and packing your coffee to your recipe under the name you chose, and preparing your Certificate of Blend.
- Shipping your boxes and sending you tracking information.
- Sending the emails that belong to your plan: your certificate, roast notices, the dashboard link where you edit your blend, and a reminder before each monthly renewal.
- For gifts: sending the buyer the printable certificate and claim code, and telling them (without details) once it has been claimed.
- Answering your messages and fulfilling our legal obligations (accounting, tax).
We only write when there is something from the roastery. We do not send third-party advertising, and we never sell or rent your personal data.
Legal bases
Where EU data protection law (GDPR) applies to you, we process your data to perform our contract with you (fulfilling your plan or claim), to comply with legal obligations, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure, understanding how it is used, and keeping our records accurate. Renewal reminders about your own plan are sent on the basis of our existing customer relationship; you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
Only the partners needed to deliver the service: Stripe (payment processing), our shipping carriers (name and delivery address on the parcel), our email provider, our hosting provider, and our analytics provider. Each acts under contract and may not use your data for its own purposes. Some partners process data outside your country; where they do, transfers rest on recognized safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies and browser storage
The site stores your blend, the name and the email you type in your own browser’s storage so the lab and the checkout stay filled while you complete an order, along with a small flag that stops a completed payment from being counted twice. None of this leaves your device except as described here. Stripe sets the cookies it needs for secure, fraud-free payment. If we enable analytics or advertising measurement, we say so here and describe the cookies they set.
How long we keep it
We keep blend, order and shipping records for as long as your plan is active and thereafter for the period applicable accounting and tax law requires. Unclaimed gift certificates and their codes are kept until they are claimed or expire. Correspondence is kept as long as needed to help you. Server logs are rotated within weeks.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to processing, or receive it in a portable format. Write to hello@youroast.it and we will respond within one month. If you believe we have not treated your data properly, you may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority where you live.
A note on gifts
If you give a Founder’s Gift, the recipient name you enter appears on the certificate. Please only share a name you are entitled to share. Once they claim, the founder’s own details replace it and we treat them as our customer for the coffee.
Children
Our shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16; if you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date. For meaningful changes we will tell active customers by email.
