Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of youroast.it and every plan, gift or claim you place with YouRoast.It (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an order you accept them. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you hold under mandatory consumer law.
1. What you are buying
A YouRoast.It plan is a monthly coffee subscription roasted to a recipe you compose: up to three of our single-origin lots in a ratio you set, at the roast level and grind you choose, packed in the bag design you pick, printed with the name you enter. Each plan includes a Certificate of Blend and access to a dashboard where the recipe can be changed before every roast. The Founder’s Gift is a single purchase of a certificate that, once claimed, entitles the holder to six monthly deliveries on the stated plan size.
2. Plans, prices and payment
The plans, their coffee volumes and their prices are shown on the site at the time of purchase. Prices are in US dollars and, where required, include applicable taxes. Subscriptions are billed monthly, in advance, through our payment processor Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, or PayPal). The Founder’s Gift is charged once. Your plan begins when payment is confirmed; a gift begins when it is claimed.
3. Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. If you paid with a method that supports secure renewals and it was saved for that purpose, we renew with that method after a reminder email; otherwise renewal happens only when you confirm it. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard or by emailing hello@youroast.it: your current month runs to its end with its shipment, and nothing further is charged. The Founder’s Gift never renews.
4. Your blend and your name
Your recipe applies to every roast until you change it. Changes made on the dashboard take effect for the next batch if made before the batch locks, five days before roast day; after that they apply to the following batch. The name you enter (up to 14 characters) and your blend name (up to 18 characters) are printed exactly as typed on your bags and certificate; please check the spelling, as personalized bags printed as ordered cannot be reprinted free of charge. You confirm that you are entitled to use the names you provide, and we may decline text that is offensive or infringes someone’s rights, refunding the order if we do.
5. The Founder’s Gift and claiming
The gift buyer receives a printable certificate by email and a printed copy by post, each carrying a claim code. The code is valid for 12 months from purchase and can be claimed once, at youroast.it/claim, by whoever holds it. On claiming, the holder designs the blend, provides a delivery address and becomes our customer for the six deliveries. Unclaimed codes expire without refund after 12 months; write to us before then if a gift has gone astray and we will help.
6. Shipping
Your first bags leave the roastery within 7 days of your order or claim; the following shipments follow monthly. Each batch is roasted to order shortly before it ships, and the roast date is stamped on every bag. Shipping is included in the US and EU; elsewhere the rate shown at checkout applies. You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and for any customs duties or import charges your country levies. If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong or the delivery went unclaimed, we contact you and reship; a second shipping fee may apply.
7. A natural product
Coffee is an agricultural product. Lots change with the seasons, and tasting notes describe the lot, not a guarantee per bag. When a lot sells out or a new harvest replaces it, we tell you and suggest the closest substitute; you may adjust your recipe or, if no substitute suits you, cancel with a refund of the undelivered share.
8. Returns and refunds
If a shipment arrives damaged, opened, or faulty, write to us within 14 days of delivery with a photo and we replace it or refund it, whichever you prefer. Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies, it does not extend to goods personalized to your order (your named bags) or to sealed food products once unsealed. Aside from those exceptions we handle things simply: if you cancel before your month’s batch has been roasted, we refund the month in full; afterwards we refund undelivered shipments, keeping only what has already shipped. Refunds go back to the original payment method.
9. The dashboard
Your dashboard access is personal to your plan. You agree not to misuse the site: no attempts to breach its security, scrape it, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend access that endangers the service, and we restore it once the issue is resolved.
10. Our content, your brand
The YouRoast.It name, logo, label layouts, photography and site content belong to us or our licensors and may not be reproduced commercially without our written permission. The name and blend name you enter remain yours; we print them only for your order. The certificate is yours to print, frame and gift.
11. Liability
We are liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under mandatory product liability law. For ordinary negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual duties and up to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract, in practice the price of your current month or gift. Nothing in this section limits rights that consumer law grants you and that cannot be waived.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future months; the version in force when you order (or a month renews) is the one that applies to that month. The current version always lives on this page with its effective date.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which YouRoast.It is established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may sue or be sued in that country’s courts. We will always try to settle any concern directly first: write to us and we will make it right.
